Monday March 16th, 2015 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM

In Broward County,  there were 2,858 first time juvenile misdemeanor offenders in one year, and the result was that each of these kids got a criminal record  that will harm them for the rest of their lives.  Broward Sheriffs Office now participates in the “Civil Citation Program for Juveniles.”   In this program, first time offenders can avoid a criminal record.

A representative from BSO  will discuss the program,  and Marsha Ellison, President of the Fort Lauderdale NAACP will discuss the “school to prison pipeline”  that has disproportionately affected the African American community.
