Broward Democratic Party Newsletter # 1

This is the first issue of our new Broward Democratic Newsemail.  It is meant to communicate to you events – dates – Opinions and the activities of your club (area). However, the Broward Democratic Club cannot sponsor many of these events. I have indicated who is sponsoring the event. We will also offer opinions (in red) and FDP statements on issues. This newsemail is governed by events however we want your contribution to it.

Aug. 19, Saturday – Florida Democratic Party Voter Registration Day of Action – Each club and area leader should be doing a voter registration drive in their community. Please try to participate in this important activity as a way to honor Heather Heyer, the young activist and democrat who lost her life protesting racial hatred. I am suggesting that we write her name on the back of every voter registration that we get that day.

Aug. 23, Wednesday – Hosted by SEIU Florida 6:30 PM 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd. “People’s Immigration Forum” – Broward is a hugely diverse County that benefits enormously from its immigrant population. The recent aggressive actions of the federal government against immigrant families and their efforts to bully local governments into doing their dirty work has lead to big swaths of our population feeling unsafe.  Join us to hear the stories of Broward residents that share the same concerns. Elected officials need to hear from us and we will be joined by Broward County Commissioners like Nan Rich and Dale Holness as well Broward Sherriff Scott Israel and Public Defender Howard Finklestein.

It is the final vote and most likely they will vote to change the street signs. Let the white nationalist, NAZIS, and KKK go crazy and protest. Special thanks to Hollywood City Commission for doing this.

Coming Up in September – 3 important issues

Investigation of Trump’s Campaign and Presidency – There is still a call out for an immediate demonstration if Muller is fired. Follow and share postings on Facebook. This is very important to keep it in the public view – Share on Facebook

Congressional Budget and Tax Reform –  This will probably be a phone demonstration. We need you to join AMPLIFY and make those phone calls. Watch for an email list of targeted House members. This was largely responsible for the defeat of Trump care. The Republicans still refuse to work with Democrats –
