NEWSeMAIL 5 NOV/DEC.

BECOME AN ARMCHAIR WARRIOR

The Broward Democratic Party executive board is launching a new campaign to fight the effect of Russian influence and propaganda on American media. Russia-linked Facebook accounts  were found to have encouraged politically-motivated violence in the U.S. during the contentious 2016 election. Facebook also revealed during testimony this week that the Kremlin-linked ad campaign reached about 146 million Americans. And, Russia trolls are on facebook now. Facebook now estimates that nearly 200 million of its users may be fake accounts.

We are asking you to become an armchair warrior to fight for American Democracy. Please go on Facebook, Google, and Twitter and share, copy and paste postings to your timeline and ask your friends and neighbors to join the fight and post valid source information to fight the Russian, KKK, White Nationalist, Neo-Nazis, and Republican false propaganda and fake news.

Go to this site:  https://www.facebook.com/BrowardDemocrats/ or https://www.facebook.com/countable.us/and hit the share button or copy and paste posts to share on your timeline so that your friends can see the post and share it also. Let’s get the truth out to save American Democracy

MARCH INTO 18 PROGRAM – MAKE A VIDEO

FROM: Bob Sciranko, organizer for the DCCC and FDP for South Florida:

I’m really excited about working with you all again and join in all the great work you have been doing on the ground already.  The DCCC is excited about their March into 18 Program we are starting by asking grassroots Democrats to record videos sharing why it’s personally important to defeat Republicans and take back the House.

The link below is an easy to use website to record a 1 minute video so you and your fellow Democrats can share why you are getting involved and why taking back the House is important to you.  We want to hear your personal stories so we can share them with the country and motivate voters.

Congress will be working next week on the Trump administration’s tax plan so we really want to get stories from people who will be negatively impacted by the new tax plan (i.e. people with medical expenses, student loan interest, local and state taxes, etc.)

Here is the link: dems.me/video_submission

After you’re done, please share your video on your own social media accounts.

Also feel free to send feedback on the site and on any creative ideas you may have to implement it to robert@floridadems.org.

Thank you all so much for your help!!

VICTORY BUT THE BATTLE GOES ON

On Election Day, Tuesday, the Democratic Party won the Governorship of New Jersey and Virginia. But more important, the party also won elections for Mayors, City Councilmen, state representatives, dog catcher etc. It was a clean sweep for the Democratic Party and a clear repudiation of Trump and the Republican Party. Thank you to all of you who called or contributed to this Victory.

However, the battle goes on.

INVESTIGATION BY MULLER –  2 Indictments and 1 Guilty plea so far.  The Republicans have introduced bills in Congress to eliminate or scale back the investigation. If Trump fires Muller, immediate demonstration at all Federal Courthouses in every city.

DACA and Trump’s plan for immigration reform – There might by demonstrations. We defeated trumpcare by calling and jamming up Congressional phone lines. 800,000 Dreamers are at risk of being deported. Please make that call ON November 14 – NATIONWIDE CALL IN TO MEMBERS OF CONGRESS

THE BIG ISSUE – TAX REFORM – THIS NEEDS OUR ACTION. We defeated Trumpcare and now the Republicans are trying to bring it back in the form of “tax reform and cuts”. We have to defeat the Republican budget WHICH IS BASED ON THIS TAX REFORM that benefits the rich.  THE NEW BUDGET OUTLINES $473 BILLION IN CUTS FROM MEDICARE AND $1 TRILLION FROM MEDICAID OVER THE NEXT DECADE, plus cuts to Education, EPA, etc, etc.TAX CUTS WILL ADD ROUGHLY $1.5 TRILLION TO AMERICA’S DEFICIT OVER 10 YRS. CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET OFFICE WARNED THAT IT COULD ADD AN EXTRA $6 TRILLION TO THE DEFICIT – IT COULD BANKRUPT THE US. Trump has gone backrupt 4 times. Now he wants to bankrupt us. THIS TAX PLAN IS FOR THE 1% RICH. It is not for the middle class.
