It Must Have Been a Slow News Day

    Hi, everybody!

So, after registering voters in Broward County for almost 20 years, the Sun-Sentinel decided it was time to put my picture in the paper.

I don’t particularly care for the fact that the high school senior looks so much younger than I do!

It was a productive week.  On Wednesday, Emily Park, Janet Thompson, and Beth Mumby helped to collect 11 voter registration forms and 16 vote-by-mail requests at the West Regional Courthouse.  On Friday, at an Andrew Gillum sponsored event at the Weston Regional Park, Ronnie Heller joined me to help register about two dozen citizens, most of them brand-new voters.  And yesterday, at the Sunrise Community Block Party, Ellen Moltz, Mark Henderson, Ronnie Heller, and Michael Goldfarb helped to register 6 Dems and 1 Rep and collect another 21 vote-by-mail requests.  And last night’s Obama Roosevelt Legacy Dinner was awesome. The room was filled with enthusiastic Democrats and Joe Kennedy III and Jason Kandar were amazing!

Here’s what’s coming up during the next few weeks:

I will be back at the West Regional Courthouse and Library (Pine Island & Broward) on Wednesday, February 28th, from 10 AM to 2 PM, registering voters and collecting requests to vote-by-mail.  Please let me know if you can join me out there on that day?

The Annual Meeting of the Broward Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union will be from 12 to 3 PM on Saturday,March 10th at the West Regional Library, 8601 W. Broward Blvd. in Plantation.  The discussion will include the proposals that the Constitutional Revision Commission could put on November’s Ballot.  This event is free and refreshments will be served.

On that same day, Saturday, March 10th, John Ziegler’s team will be back at the West Regional Library in Plantation from 10 AM to 6 PM to register voters.  He needs volunteers for 2-hour shifts.  If you’d like to help with voter registration at the Library on Saturday, please contact John at 954-232-3918 or

The next Meeting of the Plantation Democratic Club will take place at 7 PM on Tuesday, March 13th at the Deicke Auditorium, 5701 Cypress Road in Plantation.  Our speaker will be Dr. Alan Lieberman, who will be presenting an FBI-authorized Power Point lecture on Russian Espionage and Election Tampering.

On March 24, the kids and families of March For Our Lives will take to the streets of Washington DC and elsewhere to demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools today.  One of the marches will take place at 9 AM on Saturday, March 24th at the Pine Trails Park, 10555 Trails End in Parkland.  For further information, check out
