Can You Join Us Tomorrow Night and Again on Sunday?

    Good evening, everybody!

I guess it’s true that Donald Trump only hired the best people.  They are either being tried, have plead guilty, or are at war with him!

I want to thank our wonderful volunteers for helping with voter registration last Wednesday and today:  Bob Horland, Jocelyn Wills, Marsha Eisenberg, Joseph Russel, Lauren Tate, Marcia Kirshner, and Norman Levy.  We registered 15 voters, collected 11 vote-by-mail requests, and 106 universal background check demands.  October 9th is the last day to register to vote on the November Mid-Term Election.  So join us during the next two months to make this a very successful election for Democrats.

Here’s some of what’s going in during the next week:

    1.  Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 14th, the Plantation Democratic Club will have its next meeting at 7 PM at the Deicke Auditorium, 5701 Cypress Road in Plantation.  The Club will host Plantation City Council candidates, Eric Anderson, Errol Brown, Richard Cabrera, Denise Horland, and Nick Sortal, and candidates for State Representative in District 98, Andrew Dolberg, Elaine Geller, Michael Gottlieb, Stephen Korka, and Daniel Stallone.  As always, refreshments will be served.

    2.  On Wednesday, August 15th, I will be back at the West Regional Courthouse to register voters from 10 AM to 2 PM.  Please let me know of you can join me.

    3.  On Wednesday afternoon, at 5:30, there will be a fundraising event for Andrew Gillum at his Campaign Office, 4325 W. Sunrise Blvd. in Plantation.  Come out and show your support for his candidacy!

    4.  And at 7 PM on Wednesday, for those who live in Jacaranda Lakes, the three Jacaranda Lakes residents who are running for Plantation City Council seats, Erik Anserson, Denise Horland, and Nick Sortal, will appear at the next Jacaranda Lakes Neighbors-for-Neighbors meeting.  The location of this event is the Volunteer Park Community Center, 12050 W. Sunrise Blvd. in Plantation

    5.  Early voting begins on Saturday, August 18th.

6.  On Sunday, August 19th, from 2 to 4 PM, there will be a “Stronger Together” Rally to get out the vote at the Sunrise Civic Center Theater at 10610 W. Oakland Park Blvd. in Sunrise.   The incredible Barbara Effman is coordinating this event which is being sponsored by a dozen different Democratic clubs.  Almost all of the candidates who will be on the August and November Ballots are planning to attend including Congressman Alcee Hastings, Senator Bill Nelson, gubernatorial candidates Andrew Gillum, Gwen Graham, Jeff Greene, Chris King, and Phil Levine, candidates for Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried and Roy David Walker, candidates for Attorney General Sean Shaw and Ryan Torrens, Chief Financial Officer Jeremy Ring, candidates for State Representative in District 97 Jared Moskowitz and Imtiaz Ahmed Mohammad, candidates for State Representative in District 98 Andrew Dolberg, Michael Gottlieb, Elaine Geller, Stephen Korka, and Danny Stallone, and School Board candidates Laurie Rich Levinson and Donna Korn.  The doors will open at 1:30.  Come early, don’t miss out!  And you can even vote after the Rally!

    7.  And of course, I will be back at the West Regional Courthouse on Monday and Wednesday, August 20th and 22nd from 10 AM to 2 PM to register more voters.  Let me know if you can help out on those days.
