Sometimes Things Just Go Right!

Hi, everybody! What an incredible week we have had: First, Trump agrees with Speaker Pelosi to postpone the State of the Union, then Trump agrees to reopen the Federal Government without getting any money for a border wall, and then, the Special Counsel indicts Roger Stone! So, what did Trump accomplish by shutting down the Government? It was a also great week for voter registration. On Monday, with the help of Kathy and Steve DiBenedetto and Marcia Kirshner at the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at Esplanade Park in Fort Lauderdale, we collected 9 voter registration forms, including 2 from people with former felony convictions! And then on Wednesday, at the West Regional Courthouse, we collected 12 voter registration forms (including 2 whose rights were just restored), 2 vote-by-mail requests, and 88 petitions for a new constitutional amendment to expand Medicaid coverage to eligible low-income adults in Florida. Many thanks to Lonnie Supnick, Lauren Tate, Debra Longberg, and Marsha Eisenberg for coming out to help! Here's the upcoming schedule for voter registration. Let us know when you can join us. 1. Tomorrow, Saturday, January 26th, John Ziegler's team will be at the West Regional Library from 10 AM to 4 PM in three 2-hour shifts. If you can volunteer for one of these shifts, please contact John Ziegler at 954-232-3918 or 2. On Monday and Wednesday, January 28th and 30th, I'll be back at the West Regional Courthouse from 10 AM until 2 PM. The weather has been spectacular! Let me know when you can join me. Alan
