This demonstration has limited seating and has developed from the “Me to #” movement. Mission: With so many sexual assault and harassment survivors finally stepping forward and finding their voices, we feel that it is the appropriate time to host another event that will empower our community. Last year, we organized and executed the Women's Rally in South Florida so that the South Florida community could stand in solidarity with the March in Washington. 25,000 South Floridians came to the South Florida rally, making it the largest sister event in the state! The Wonder Women RISE! event is being held so that we can learn how to find our inner Wonder Woman! The agenda will include what got us to this tipping point historically, what we can do when confronted with abusive and harassing situations, how to deescalate these situations, and how to best cope after the fact. We also will address where we go from here. This is our day to RISE and empower each other by embracing our beauty, compassion, intelligence, sexuality, and STRENGTH!
We hope our rally is the first step towards unifying our communities, forging new relationships, and creating change from the bottom up. Speakers who are national experts in different fields will be addressing what actions can be taken and empowerment and inspiration will be created by poets and musicians gracing our stage. We will host our event at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater on March 3rd to commemorate both International Woman’s Day, March 8th and the month of March being Woman’s History Month.
Since the seating is limited, it is important that you Go to Eventbrite to register https://www.eventbrite.com/e/wonder-women-rise-tickets-40760326233. Parking is limited and we urge you to use Motor Coach bus transportation at https://www.facebook.com/events/146103572727326/?active_tab=discussion.
